Recycling Electrical Items

ELECTRICAL ITEMS

Marked with the following symbols on the product data rating plate.

All our electrical products are labelled with the crossed our wheelie bin symbol, this symbol means that the product must not be placed in your bin at the end of its life.  Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and protecting the environment.  If you do not recycle electrical equipment it could end up in landfill where hazardous substances can cause soil and water contamination. We work in partnership with REPIC to ensure that our electrical products are responsibly recycled, find out more by visiting  www.repic.co.uk/consumers

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires EU Member States to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of WEEE. In the UK, distributors (including retailers) are required to provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a responsible retailer and through membership of the national Distributor Take-back scheme (DTS), we have met the requirements placed on us by financially supporting the national network of WEEE recycling centres established by local authorities.

You can find out where your nearest recycling centre is by following either of these links https://www.recycleyourelectricals.org.uk/electrical-recycling-near-me/ or  https://www.recycle-more.co.uk and type in your postcode.
